We are responsible for the removal of dead animals found only on public land. This includes wild animals such as badgers and foxes as well as domestic pets such as cats and dogs.
We are unable to remove dead animals from private property. This is the responsibility of the property owner.
The responsibility for removing dead animals from motorways or the Marlow bypass rests with the Highways Agency.
- For dead animals found on motorways please call the Highways Agency on 0300 123 5000 (available 24-hours a day) or email firstname.lastname@example.org
What happens if it is a domestic pet?
When we remove a domestic animal such as a cat or dog, we will try to identify and inform the owner from a collar or microchip. We will store domestic animals in a freezer for a period of time while this process takes place in order to give the owner the opportunity to reclaim their pet.
