Paper and cardboard recycling

You can recycle most paper and cardboard with our kerbside collection.

green-boxCollection details

We collect paper and cardboard every two weeks. Place it loose in your:

  • green or black box
  • blue wheeled bin, for flats and schools only

What we collect

  • paper – magazines, newspapers, envelopes and junk mail
  • cardboard – greeting cards, cardboard packaging, corrugated cardboard, toilet and kitchen rolls
  • mixed card and paper – books, directories and catalogues

We can’t collect

  • plastic packaging (film or carrier bags)
  • shredded paper (this clogs up the sorting machines)
  • cartons (please use your blue wheeled bin or bags)
  • waxed or laminated paper/cardboard (crisp tubes and ice cream cartons)

Paper and cardboard: what we collect

Extra recycling

We will collect a reasonable amount of excess recyclables, as long as:

  • recyclables are loose in a re-useable container; we will not collect recyclables in plastic bags
  • recyclables are presented neatly alongside the relevant collection container
  • cardboard boxes are flattened and reduced to a manageable size

We will not be responsible or liable for any lost containers used to store extra recycling.
