School rubbish and recycling is not collected with household collections. Instead, schools can make separate arrangements with us.

We offer rubbish and recycling collections for schools. These can be arranged and amended online.

Red bins for schools and flatsMixed recycling

We collect “mixed recycling” - glass, plastic, tins, cartons and metals - every two weeks. Please rinse items and place loose in your:

  • red wheeled bin (schools only)

What we collect

  • Cartons: beverage cartons, soup, milk, juice etc
  • Plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays
  • Shampoo, body wash and mouthwash bottles
  • Household metal materials: foil, aerosols, bottle tops, jar lids
  • Tins and cans: food tins, drink cans
  • Glass: bottles, jars

What we can't collect

  • Plastics bags
  • Paper and cardboard (please use your paper bin)
  • Cling film and plastic wrapping
  • Plastic plant pots and toys,
  • Household glassware and china
  • Crisp, sweet and biscuit wrappers
  • Tear-off plastic film
  • Polystyrene
  • Pet bedding or cat litter
  • Pet food pouches
  • Other plastic
  • Electrical items
  • Takeaway cups
  • General rubbish

Blue bulk bins for schools and flatsPaper and cardboard

We collect paper and cardboard every two weeks. Place it loose in your:

  • blue wheeled bin (schools only)

What we collect

  • paper – magazines, newspapers, envelopes and junk mail
  • cardboard – greeting cards, cardboard packaging, corrugated cardboard, toilet and kitchen rolls
  • mixed card and paper – books, directories and catalogues

What we can’t collect

  • plastic packaging (film or carrier bags)
  • shredded paper (this clogs up the sorting machines)
  • takeaway cups
  • cartons (please use your red wheeled bin)
  • waxed or laminated paper/cardboard (crisp tubes and ice cream cartons)

black-binGeneral rubbish

Your general household rubbish is collected in black or green bins. Please use the general rubbish bin for any waste which cannot be recycled.

Please ensure that the bin stores are kept clean and accessible at all times. Our contractor is not responsible for removing waste dumped on the floor of your bin store.
