Local Development Scheme
The Wycombe Local Development Scheme [PDF | 980 KB] sets out our work programme for the main planning policy documents we intend to prepare over the next three years. In particular it includes:
- what local plans we intend to produce
- the subject matter and geographical area the plans relate to
- the timetable for the preparation of the documents
- the status of each document
Our Local Development Scheme was last updated in December 2016. It sets out a programme for preparing the new Local Plan, which now incorporates growth previously proposed in the draft Princes Risborough Town Plan.
We can now confirm that we will be taking the new Wycombe District Local Plan to our Cabinet and Council in September 2017. This will be followed by a six week public consultation, starting in October.
We will then submit the plan to the Government in Spring 2018, for examination in public.
The timetable is then in the hands of the Planning Inspectorate, but we would expect the examination in public to be held in Summer 2018. This will probably lead to a further consultation on changes proposed by the examiner.
If all proceeds as intended, we aim to adopt our new Local Plan in the Spring of 2019.
The delay in publishing the plan is a result of considering the implications of the government's Housing white paper produced earlier this year, updating the evidence base which supports the plan, and continuing our negotiations with our neighbouring Buckinghamshire Councils.
