Wooburn Green conservation area

This appraisal sets out the key features that contribute to the character of Wooburn Green Conservation Area.

Wooburn Green is at the south end of a linear line of development that has straggled along the valley of the River Wye. The valley setting is a key characteristic of the conservation area. The settlement is an ancient Saxon Settlement, now joined by urban sprawl to the edges of High Wycombe

The central green is the focal point of the conservation area. The open space is enclosed by the wide range of attractive buildings that surround it. The character of the area is urban due to commercial premises, particularly on the west side of the road. Elsewhere buildings are more cottagey, with some attractive listed buildings along the eastern side of the Green. South east of the green, Manor Farm stands in a more open riverside setting beyond orchards.

There are 17 listed buildings in this conservation area.
