VE/VJ Day 75 small grant scheme

Commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE day and VJ day

When VE Day dawns on 8 May 2020 it will be 75 years since the guns fell silent in Europe at the end of the Second World War.

The special day will be an opportunity to remember and reflect on the sacrifices that were made during the conflict, and show our gratitude to those who gave so much, so that we could live in peace.

The 75 year anniversary of VJ (Victory in Japan) Day falls later in the year (15 August) and offers another opportunity to remember the scale of service and sacrifice made by the men and women of the Second World War generation.

Small grant scheme

In support of this landmark year, we are providing a special small grants scheme for which local town/parish councils and constituted community groups can apply to help them mark the anniversary.

Applicants can apply for funding of up to £150 per event or project.
