Public spaces protection orders (PSPOs)
High Wycombe PSPO
This order prohibits at all times “consuming alcohol, or having an open container for alcohol, in the Restricted Area subject to the exemptions listed in Schedule 2".
Summary conviction may lead to a fine not exceeding level 2 on the standard scale or a fixed penalty notice of a maximum of £100.
Desborough Road PSPO
This order states that person(s) shall not engage, loiter or solicit with a view to engaging in obtaining sexual services.
West End Road PSPO
This order restricts access to the public right of way detailed in the map. The order authorises the installation of gates which will enforce the access restriction. Any person, other than those persons listed in schedule 2, who is found on the public right of way will be in breach of this order and will be liable to a fine or penalty.
PSPOs deal with particular nuisance or problems in a particular area that is detrimental to the local community’s quality of life, by imposing conditions on the use of that area, which apply to everyone. They are designed to ensure the law-abiding majority can use and enjoy public spaces, safe from anti-social behaviour.
We have introduced PSPOs to deal with specific, identified, ongoing anti-social behaviour issues.
The power to create PSPOs was enacted in Chapter 2 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 (external link).
