Business rates revaluation

Business rate revaluation usually takes place every five years. The next revaluation takes place from 1 April 2017.

At revaluation

  • each business property gets a new rateable value
  • rateable value multipliers will be revised

The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) is responsible for assessing all rateable values across England and Wales.

We will use the new rateable value and multiplier to calculate your new business rates for 2017-2018.

See GOV.UK Find and check your business rates valuation (external website) to

  • check you revised rateable value
  • report any incorrect information

The VOA recommends that you report any changes by 30 November 2016.
