We are consulting on our draft reviewed Gambling Act policy.

Purpose and detail

In December 2006, following an extensive consultation process, we published out Statement of Licensing Policy in relation to gambling as required by the Gambling Act 2005. A requirement of the Act is that the policy is reviewed at least every three years. The last review was carried out in 2015. In reviewing the policy we are  required to consult with specific statutory bodies and those that may be affected by it or otherwise have an interest in the policy statement. 

No major amendments are proposed other than the inclusion of two new sections at 2.4 (Local Area Profiles) and 2.5 (Local Risk Assessments). These have been added due to changes in the law in this respect.

We now invite comments on the policy.
