Petitions trigger community governance reviews
Two petitions calling for community governance reviews with a view to forming town or parish councils have met the required criteria to trigger a review.
One of the petitions is for a review to consider whether to form a parish council in the ward of Sands and the other is for a review to consider whether there should be a town council for the unparished area of High Wycombe.
The petitions were handed in at a full council meeting on Thursday 21 February. The number of petitioners has since been validated and we can confirm that the number of validated signatures has reached the number required to trigger a community governance review. The reviews will need to be completed within 12 months.
Two petitions calling for community governance reviews for the wards of Totteridge and Micklefield have previously been submitted and have triggered reviews in those wards. A report will now be presented to the Regulatory and Appeals Committee (18 March) and Full Council (1 April) in relation to all the validated petitions, to enable the council to set out the terms of reference for the reviews.
