Three Wycombe District parks were this week awarded prestigious Green Flags for the year ahead.

Hughenden Park in High Wycombe had a full inspection earlier this year, while Higginson Park in Marlow and The Rye in High Wycombe are both due a mystery shop later this year.

They are among a record-breaking 1,970 UK parks and green spaces, and 131 in 13 other countries around the world, that will today receive their Green Flag – the mark of a quality park or green space.

This international award, now into its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.

Cllr Graham Peart BEM, Cabinet Member for Community, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive these Green Flag Awards once again.

“We know how much quality green spaces matter to residents and visitors, and these awards celebrate the dedication that goes into maintaining our parks to such a high standard.

“These three are our biggest stars. But we also have many popular smaller parks and open spaces throughout the district that we care for and improve to meet the needs of local residents.”
