Community room gets craned into place

Community Building Arrives group photo_edited

All of the sections of the new offsite manufactured (OSM) community room were delivered to QEII Recreation Ground in Shelley Road, High Wycombe on Tuesday, on a convoy of three lorries. The OSM building was craned into place on the same day, unaffected by the showers and wind, with sunshine making an appearance in the early afternoon just after deliveries were completed.

The building already had the toilet, kitchenette, light fittings and radiators fully fitted when delivered to site, along with the first fix electrics. It was built by Integra in their factory in Hull. Over the next few weeks the building systems will be installed and utility connections completed, and it is due to be handed over by the contractors to the Poets Corner Residents Association in February.

Outside the building there will be a number of new picnic benches for use by anyone wanting to book the new community room, watch football matches or enjoy the recreation ground as a whole. The money to build the community room was allocated by High Wycombe Town Committee from its available CIL funds.
