National dementia week

The Alzheimer’s Society is asking everyone to unite against dementia during this year’s Dementia Awareness Week from 14 to 20 May. 

My Life, My Memories is a day of free events which are being held in High Wycombe to mark Dementia Awareness Week. This is a great opportunity to celebrate memories, get information on coping with memory problems and advice on supporting loved ones. 

  • Share memories at High Wycombe Library in Eden Centre - enjoy period themed lifts and Bucks Library Reminiscence Collection Information and advice from Alzheimer's Society and other organisations in HW library foyer.   • 1.15pm - Music and a specially choreographed dance event by students at Buckinghamshire New University, at Queen Alexandra Rd campus
  • 1.30-4pm - Visit the Victorian era, see 1940s & 50s home items and try old fashioned food at Wycombe Museum in Priory Road
  • Could living assistance technology help you or a loved one? Find out from suppliers – NRS Healthcare will have an information van in the High Street during the day.
