Summer 08 Sports Scheme

The Sports Development Unit have a five week coaching programme linking in with local sports clubs over the summer holidays.

Bucks Festival of Sport

Bucks Sport have teamed up with local sports clubs across the county to offer come and try sessions at local clubs.

Sports Development Unit

Sports development logoOur Sports Development Unit is dedicated to the development of sports within the area linking in with local, regional and national plans to develop a wide range of sporting opportunities.

The unit offers a wide range of help and assistance to clubs, coaches, schools and youth groups as well as offering the children of Wycombe district the opportunity to participate in sporting activities during and after school.

Quest logoThe Sports Development Unit holds Quest accreditation which is the nationally recognised standard for those working in sports development.

Bucks Youth Games (BYG)

The Sports Development Unit was pleased to host the 2006 and 2007 Bucks Youth Games. The 2008 Youth Games were held in Milton Keynes. Trials and selections started around February 2008 and this year Wycombe District Council entered over 270 children for the BYG. To find out more about the Games please click onto the below link.

County Sports Partnership (CSP)

The CSP consists of Local Authorities (Aylesbury Vale DC, Chiltern DC, Milton Keynes Council, South Bucks DC and WDC) School Sports Partnerships, Sport England, sports National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and a wide range of agencies who all contribute to the development of sport and physical activity across the county.

Sport England has identified a number of sports which are looking to develop and increase participation over the next few years. Detailed development plans for each sport are being produced by the relevant sports NGB.
