New council year welcomes new Chairman and new Cabinet Members

11 May 2010

Wycombe District Council appointed a new Chairman to office last night, during an annual council meeting which marked the start of the new council year and also saw two changes to Cabinet members.

Keen beekeeper Bill Bendyshe-Brown, who was elected to Wycombe District Council as ward member for The Risboroughs in May 1999, will hold the Chairman's chain of office for the next year. His theme will be conservation and wildlife. He will be supported during the year by Vice-Chairman Cllr Ian McEnnis.

Councillor Clive Harriss has taken over from Cllr Audrey Jones as Cabinet Member for Wellbeing and Neighbourhoods, in a role which covers many of the Council's environmental services. Cllr Harriss was elected to the Council in May 2007 as ward member for Tylers Green and Loudwater.

Marlow councillor Richard Scott replaces Cllr Katrina Wood as Cabinet Member for Younger and Older People. This position is responsible for many of the council's community services, including parks and open spaces, community safety and cultural and leisure facilities. Cllr Scott was elected to the Council in February 2008 as ward member for Marlow North and West.

Cllr Lesley Clarke was elected as Leader of the Council for 2010/11; all other Cabinet members also remain the same.
