Wycombe man jailed after anti-social behaviour
22 June 2010
A 35 year old High Wycombe resident has been sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment for breaching an anti-social behaviour order issued against him by Wycombe District Council and Thames Valley Police's joint Public Safety Team.
Christian Clarke was issued with a five year anti-social behaviour order in September 2008. The conditions of his order are that he is prohibited from engaging in any threatening, abusive or aggressive behaviour towards any person; engaging in any behaviour which causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person; and from remaining on any land or premises having been asked to leave by the owner or occupier.
On 15 June Mr Clarke breached his anti-social behaviour order when he used used threatening and abusive words towards a member of the public. He was arrested and appeared in Wycombe Magistrates on 17 June, where he was sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment.
Cllr Richard Scott, Wycombe District Council's Cabinet Member for Younger and Older People, added: "Tackling anti-social behaviour is a top priority for both Wycombe District Council and Thames Valley Police. There are various ways in which we deal with anti-social behaviour and we don't request the issue of anti-social behaviour orders lightly - so when one is breached, we take it seriously."
