ASBO for woman behaving anti-socially in High Wycombe
05 August 2010
A High Wycombe woman has been issued with an anti-social behaviour order (ASBO), after Wycombe District Council and Thames Valley Police received complaints about her behaviour from local residents and businesses.
Claire Muszalik, 32, was issued with a three year ASBO by Wycombe Magistrate's Court on Monday 2 August, after an application was made by Wycombe District Council and Thames Valley Police's joint Public Safety Team.
The Team received numerous complaints about Ms Muszalik, who has been considered a nuisance by local residents and businesses in the Desborough area of High Wycombe since last autumn. The Team gathered evidence of Ms Muszalik's behaviour, which included operating in the area at night time as a prostitute and being loud and verbally aggressive to members of the public, often as a result of intoxication.
After breaching an acceptable behaviour contract, the Team applied for an ASBO - the conditions of which apply in England and Wales - which was granted on Monday 2 August. The ASBO prohibits Ms Muszalik from:
1. Committing any lewd or obscene act including urinating, defecating and soliciting for prostitution in any public place.
2. Being abusive, insulting or using threatening, intimidating words or behaviour to any person in a public place.
3. Being under the influence of intoxicating liquor in any public place.
Cllr Richard Scott, Wycombe District Council's Cabinet Member for Younger and Older People commented: "The work done by the Public Safety Team to obtain this order is a clear indication that the partnership is keen to use any powers available to deal with anti-social behaviour. The purpose of this order is to prevent the nuisance behaviour that this individual has been subjecting the residents and businesses of Desborough Road to."
