Salaries of senior staff

You can download data listing the salaries of our senior staff as at October 2010.

This data is licensed under the Open Government Licence. Read the Open Government Licence (external website, opens in a new window).

The data includes the following information. Spreadsheet column names are in brackets:

  • URI - unique resource identifier for our council (Body)
  • Name of our council (Body name)
  • Name of the senior staff member (Name)
  • Job title of the senior staff member (Job title)
  • Service area code. These codes are used in expenditure returns to central government (Service area). See key below.
  • Full time equivalent. This is used to measure the amount of time someone works in a role. For a full-time person the FTE is 1. For a part-time person the FTE is whatever proportion of a full-time role they work (FTE of minimum contracted hours)
  • FTE salary is the base salary divided by the FTE. This calculation allows for comparisons between full and part-time staff. The basic rate is an amount before deductions for "pay as you earn" (PAYE), National Insurance, pension schemes and voluntary deductions ( FTE salary).

Key for service area codes

CORP = Corporate/Democratic
HOUS = Housing
CRSP = Culture, Recreation and Sport
ENVR = Environmental
PLAN = Planning and Development
