What is the Rent Deposit Guarantee Scheme?
The Wycombe Rent Deposit Guarantee Scheme aims to help people who are homeless or in housing need gain access to privately rented accommodation by offering a guarantee against losses, damage or rent arrears in lieu of the usual deposit.
Who is eligible for the scheme?
To qualify for the scheme you must be:
- Aged 18 or over
- Homeless or in housing need. For example living in poor or unreasonable conditions, about to lose your home or sleeping rough
- In need of housing in the Wycombe district area and able to prove a local connection
- Able to live independently
- Unable to raise a deposit yourself because you are unemployed, receiving benefits or on a low income and have no significant savings
- Entitled to full Housing Benefit/Local Housing Allowance
- Have a month's rent in advance (we may be able to help you apply for a crisis loan for this)

The scheme is managed by an external organisation. They do not have a "drop in" service. You must pre-book an appointment.
