Civil parking areas

Wycombe district is a civil parking area (CPA). We are responsible for the enforcement of all on-street parking regulations in the district, including yellow lines, waiting and loading regulations and restricted parking areas. This means that parking offences are a civil rather than a criminal matter.

Penalty Charge Notices (parking tickets)

We employ Civil Enforcement Officers to enforce the parking regulations for on-street parking and council-owned car parks in the district. Failing to abide by the parking regulations will result in a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) parking ticket being issued.

Outstanding payment for PCNs will be recovered through civil action. Appeals or challenges will be dealt with by our administration team and if necessary by the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, who are independant of the Council.

How the CPA is financed

Any monies received from on-street parking, finance the CPA scheme. Any surplus monies are spent in parking improvements, transport and environmental issues within the district.
