Sandbags

We hold a limited stock of filled sandbags at our contractor's depot and these are ready to distribute to householders as a last measure during an emergency (for example, when flooding of a property is imminent). We do not have the resources to supply sandbags as a preventative measure. Our sandbags policy is available to download below.

Please note the primary responsibility lies with the home owner/occupier to take appropriate measures based on flood warnings being issued.

If you think your property is at risk of flooding you should take early preventative measures to protect your home. You can buy empty sandbags from various suppliers and fill them with builders' sand.

The Environment Agency is able to recommend Kitemark certified flood products which have been independently tested and proved fit for purpose. Information on these products can be found on the Environment Agency website. (See link below)
