The Development Plan
In considering planning applications, we are required to make the decision in accordance with the Development Plan, unless material considerations indicate otherwise. This has led to the current planning system being often referred to as "plan-led".
The Development Plan for Wycombe District is made up of the following documents all of which are available below via links and downloads:
Buckinghamshire Minerals and Waste Local Plans to 2016 (see link at bottom of page)
Wycombe Local Plan to 2011
Wycombe Development Framework Core Strategy to 2026
The Local Plan is gradually replaced by the Development Plan Documents (DPDs) that make up the Wycombe Development Framework (WDF), they are also added to the Development Plan. This means that the number of local plan policies that are "saved" is reduced as each DPD is adopted.
On 6th July 2010 the Government revoked Regional Strategies, including the South East Plan and the associated housing targets. In the light of this and other emerging changes from Government, the Council has indicated that it will review the approach to housing requirements and housing supply. The South East Plan was formerly part of the Development Plan.
