Hands-on discovery sessions
Our sessions, which are aimed at key stages 1 and 2, last two hours and comprise workshop led activities and exploration of the Museum's galleries. They are an ideal way to introduce a topic or reinforce class work and provide an interactive and memorable experience.
Our sessions aim to:
- stimulate active learning with real objects
- offer elements of role play and dressing up
- meet the needs of the creative curriculum
- encourage pupils to develop their critical thinking and enquiry skills
- provide elements of make and take
- challenge and motivate staff as well as pupils
- offer a reliable and flexible visit experience
Key stage 1 sessions:
- Home sweet home
- Let's play
Key stage 2 sessions:
- Take a seat
- Bodgers and Bottomers: chair-making in Wycombe
- Life in Roman Britain
- Take cover
- Victorian washday
Please note that the Woodland Service uses the Museum's garden to deliver animal, habitats and life cycles sessions for key stage 1 and 2.
