2012 Thomas Lawrence lectures
The Fine Art Society at Buckinghamshire New University warmly invites you to attend the 2012 Thomas Lawrence lectures, a sponsored series of talks in February and March unique to the university which are hosted by internationally recognised Artists and Gallerists. The lectures will be an inspiring insight into their own creative views, practices and experiences which will be a valuable asset to your own creative development. The lectures will start promptly at 5:30pm in the Owen Harris 2 Lecture theatre on the university campus and will finish around 7:00pm. Admission is free to all the lectures.

News from the Chiltern Camerata
On Saturday 17th March 2012, 7.30 pm at All Saints Parish Church, The Causeway, Marlow SL7 2AA Sam Laughton will once again conduct the Chiltern Camerata who shall be joined by the Camerata Consort of Singers, heard most recently in the performance the Bach St. John Passion just a year ago. This excellent choir includes members who perform with London choirs including the Joyful Company of Singers. The enticing programme includes Vaughan Williams' 16-part 'Serenade to Music' for choral soloists and orchestra.

Tickets for the concert are now available. They are priced at £12 (concessions £10), including a concert programme. Calling All Artists!
Would you like your photograph of your artwork to feature on our Arts Home webpage? We are looking for photographs of work by local artists - this could be fine art painting or design, or a performance picture. Depending on the response we may change the picture once a month so a different artist's work is featured. The artist and photographer will be credited. Two opportunities from Signdance Collective (SDC)
Signdance Collective are looking for:
- Actor to learn the role of the Referee for SDC's New Gold for a London run April 13th - 29th (not Mondays) at Warehouse Theatre, Croydon. Shared earnings on split box-office and opportunities to tour with SDC in future. We are looking for male actor who can move well, sign (or ability to learn sign during the rehearsal process) deaf, hearing, disabled non-disabled.
- One dancer (male) to learn a role in one of the company's new shows Campaigtopbeme. London-run (details as above)

Funding opportunities for arts projects devised by young people
Wycombe District Council would like to encourage the Local Strategic Partnership and Neighbourhood Action Groups to apply for funding for arts projects devised by young people. If you have a project and would like to discuss submitting a grant application please contact

In addition, the Wycombe Swan Community Fund which provides grants to local groups to help with the hire costs of the Swan, including the Town Hall, can be accessed for projects devised by young people.

If your organisation receives an arts grant from us, we are able to provide some assistance with the promotion of your event.
Distribution by Wycombe District Council
Leaflets and small flyers
Contact the Performance & Research Officer in Community Services who can arrange distribution to a total of 35 Community & Leisure and information sites. Please discuss with her where you want your publicity to go and how many paper copies you should supply. As a guide, if leaflets are received by the last Thursday in the month, they will be distributed first week of the following month.

Posters
A4 maximum size. You can send 18 paper copies to Communications for district council notice boards in car parks.

Please note:
- As a rule, posters and leaflets are needed 5-6 weeks before your event/performance takes place as distribution is done monthly.
- We can only distribute promotional material for not for profit organisations
- We reserve the right not to distribute material for religious events
- We can not guarantee availability of your flyers/posters at each site
- Posters will only displayed two weeks prior to an event (although some exceptions may be made)
WOW brochure (What's On in Wycombe)
The Council's WOW brochure is published quarterly. Community events can be listed in it free of charge. The brochures are produced and distributed to 35 sites for:
April to June (copy deadline 1 March)
July to September (copy deadline 1 June)
October to December (copy deadline 1 September)
January to March (copy deadline 1 December)
Event details should be sent to leisure@wycombe.gov.uk before the copy deadlines. The information needed is the title of the event, a brief description (up to 30 words), time, cost, venue, contact details etc. NOTE: We can not guarantee that all events submitted will be listed as this is dependent upon the space available in each edition.
