Arts

Public art in High Wycombe - blue glass with black lines behind glass doors with metal frames.

We develop and support arts and creativity in the local community. Our Arts Development team:

  • attracts investment into the district, creating opportunities for artists, communities and small creative industries
  • helps local arts organisations to improve their business and attract new audiences/customers
  • supports festivals and arts events, encouraging visitors into the district
  • helps communities to be safer and more attractive through a variety of cultural activities
  • brings communities together
  • helps preserve the heritage of Wycombe for future generations

Through advice, network contacts, meetings and funding, we support organisations including:

  • local festivals such as Wycombe Arts Festival, The Wooburn Festival and Speen Festival (biennial)
  • Bucks Open Studios
  • Arts4Every1
  • community organisations and events through grant aid
  • Wycombe Swan
  • rural touring scheme Theatre in the Villages
  • public art and improvements to other public spaces

We also work with local further and higher education providers in the development of opportunities for the community and students
assessing local applications for Arts Council funding.

We are a partner in Creative Bucks, which runs innovative projects across the county with support from Arts Council England, other Buckinghamshire local authorities and regional agencies.
