We offer advice on certain housing issues - including applications to join the housing register and transfers. We can also advise on a wide variety of housing options for households seeking alternative accommodation, including people threatened with homelessness.

Through our housing strategy we aim to enable the provision of decent affordable homes for people with a need for housing.

Red Kite Community Housing

The ownership and management of the Council's housing stock has transferred to Red Kite Community Housing, a new tenant-led, not for profit, charitable housing organisation.

Red Kite are now responsible for the following services:

  • Housing repairs
  • Home improvements
  • Making changes to your property
  • Home insurance
  • Sheltered housing
  • Mutual exchanges
  • Community Call alarm service
