When do you collect it?

Green boxes are collected once a fortnight.

Use My Wycombe to look up your collection schedule, or contact us with your address to find out the dates and frequency of your household waste collection service.

We produce calendars that provide all the collection dates for all the recycling collections associated with your property, if you don't have a copy or yours has expired, please call us and we'll be delighted to post you the latest versions.

What do I need to do on bin collection day?

  • Make sure that the right items go in the right containers. If the green box is contaminated with the wrong material, it can't be recycled and we will not be able to empty your box
  • Put your box out by 7am on the advised collection day
  • Position your box to be clearly visible without causing any obstruction
  • If we miss your box, please report it to us by 4pm on collection day and we will come back the next working day to collect it

Where does the waste go?

First, the paper and cardboard goes to a sorting facility in Amersham. Newspapers and magazines then go to a paper mill in North Wales where they are recycled into fresh newspaper. The remaining cardboard and mixed paper is sent to a mill in Kent where it is recycled into corrugated cardboard.
