Dead animals - removal
We are responsible for the removal of dead animals found in public areas. This includes wild animals such as badgers and foxes as well as domestic pets such as cats and dogs.
We do not remove dead animals from private property. This is the responsibility of the property owner. We can offer advice on how you should remove the carcass or charge a fee for removal.
We do not remove animals from motorways or the Marlow bypass this is the responsibility of the Highways Agency (contact details below).
Report a dead animal
- During office hours contact our Waste and Recycling team using the details on the right

What happens if it is a domestic pet?
If a domestic animal such as a cat or dog is found, we will try to identify and inform the owner from a collar or microchip. The animal is kept for a period of time while this process takes place in order to give the owner the opportunity to reclaim their pet.
