How to book an event
The listing below indicates where booking is necessary and prices are as follows (unless stated otherwise).
Non-booking events are free.
Please pay in cash on the day. Alternatively, please visit one of our Tourist Information Centres in High Wycombe, Marlow or Princes Risborough to make a booking and payment.

All activities will need sturdy footwear and warm, weatherproof clothing unless otherwise stated.
2010 is the UN International Year of Biodiversity. Please come along to an event listed to learn more about biodiversity in your local area and what we are doing to protect and enhance it.

Thursday 26th & Saturday 28th
Conservation Work Party - Gomm's Wood LNR, High Wycombe.
Help us start this year's vital conservation task to create mixed aged woodland suitable for a wide variety of wildlife from Bullfinches to Violets and other wildflowers.
Meet: 10am Cock Lane Cemetery Car Park, Tylers Green, High Wycombe HP10 8DS (Grid Ref: SU897935).
Monday 30th
Winters Hill to Cock Marsh Ramble and Return by the 'Marlow Donkey'
Crossing the river by the Bypass Bridge, the walk follows the road to Quarry Woods and the ascent begins to Winters Hill. Enjoy the views and see if you can spot your house! Along to Cock Marsh, a great place for finding all sorts of wildlife. Stop at the Bounty garden for a refreshing drink before crossing the river again to catch the Marlow Donkey at Bourne End station back to Marlow. ( details to be confirmed )

Sunday 12th
Commons Walk - Lane End.
As summer draws to a close, come along and explore your local common land as we travel through no less than 6 different commons on this walk of about 5 miles which has no steep climbs and contains some interesting glimpses into how a commoner would've lived their lives.
Meet: 10.00am at the free public car park off Finings Road, Lane End (adjacent to Lane End Surgery) HP14 3ES (Grid Ref: SU807918).
Friday 17th
Glow Wild in the Dark - Brush Hill Local Nature Reserve, Prince Risborough.
Are there any Nature Detectives out there? Begin with a bug hunt and nature games, then come for a twilight walk around the site. Listen out for bats hunting their prey with a bat detector before returning to the top to see what has appeared in our moth trap.
Please bring a torch and remember something warm to wear after the sun goes down. A favourite event for families but children must be accompanied by an adult.

BOOKING EVENT - FREE OF CHARGE

Conservation Work Party - Highfield Wood, High Wycombe.
Annual Glade management work & Coppicing to diversify the woodland margin age structure. This work will benefit a wide variety of wildlife including woodland flowers, the insects and animals they support.
Meet: 10am Micklefield Community Centre, Micklefield Road, High Wycombe, HP13 7FY (Grid Ref: SU893933).
Gloves, tools and hot drinks provided at all work parties. Please wear clothing suitable for the conditions and working outdoors, stout footwear and bring a packed lunch if required.

Regular Conservation Groups
The Woodland Service aims to conserve and enhance the biodiversity of our sites across Wycombe District. Everyone is invited to join and there is no commitment required, other than to enjoy yourself!
Green Thursday events
Conservation in your local woodland
A weekly event to get people from all communities actively involved in the conservation of their local woodlands.
There will be some transport available but it is advisable to contact us in advance so we know numbers. If you would like to stay all day, please bring a packed lunch
