General household survey 2005

Every two years we invite 900 residents to tell us their views on important local issues and Council services we call this the general household survey (GHS). We also follow this up by holding a series of focus groups to discuss further the key findings. People are selected to ensure that we have a representative cross section of the community at large. Essentially this survey represents a snapshot of public opinion at a given time and is used to inform our strategic planning processes.

The 2005 general household survey was completed during April and May this year. Five hundred responses were obtained to a 15 minute telephone questionnaire which covered the following topics:

  • Quality of service provision
  • The way WDC runs things
  • Council tax levels
  • Communications with WDC
  • Media
  • Awareness of WDC Councillors and their role
  • Awareness of High Wycombe town centre redevelopment and related projects

The key findings are contained in the following documents:

- Executive Summary
- Answers broken down by Demographic
- Answers broken down by High Wycombe
- Answers broken down by Ethnicity
- Answers broken down by Northern Wards
- Answers broken down by Southern Wards
