Wycombe District Council is made up of 60 councillors, democratically-elected every four years. Following the local elections on Thursday 3 May 2007 (and a number of subsequent by-elections), the political make-up of the Council is as follows:
48 Conservative (who form the political administration)
2 Labour
8 Liberal Democrats
2 Independent
The Leader and Cabinet
The council operates a "Leader" and "Cabinet" model. Nine councillors serve as the Cabinet taking executive decisions. Committees with specific responsibilities carry out non-executive functions.
