Sir Steven Redgrave bursary award
Individuals, under the age of 21 years, competing in a recognised sport at International level can apply for the Sir Steven Redgrave bursary award. For the full criteria and an application form - please see the documents at the bottom of the page.
The closing date for the Sir Steven Redgrave awards is 30 April each year.
Sports coaching bursaries
We are committed to helping develop coaches who are already coaching and to encourage parents, club volunteers or students to become qualified coaches and help at clubs or sporting activities.
We can also provide funding for coaches who want to go from being a level 1 coach to a level 2 coach, or from a level 2 coach to a level 3 coach.

Sports clubs
Community grants may be available for sports clubs and organisations towards capital projects and for new sports equipment. See community grants.
Other sources of funding
Apart from the grants available from us, there are other organisations offering financial assistance to sports individuals and clubs. See the web links below for more detail. Sports Aid (Opens in new window)
This fund is aimed at talented young sports stars in the United Kingdom. It offers 12-16 year olds help and support to train and travel to national competitions. A general grant will be around £250 per sports individual.
Sport England (Opens in new window)
Organisation providing the strategic lead for sport in England. Provides funding for projects that increase taking part in sport or improve sporting standards.
Lord's Taverners Fund (Opens in new window)
Aimed at providing children with special needs the opportunity to participate in sport. In the last 50 years the Lord's Taverners have grant aided over £36m to schools, clubs and special needs organisation.
Grants 4: Buckinghamshire (Opens in new window)
Provides local organisations a user-friendly search facility to find grant funding sources. Covers European, national, regional, lottery and foundation grant sources relevant to the Bucks area.
Bucks Foundation (Opens in new window)
Aims to promote and support voluntary and community activities within the Bucks area. Funding is gained through private and corporate donors looking to help local organisations make a difference. Small £500 grants are available for any groups in Bucks, excluding Milton Keynes.
Big Lottery Fund (Opens in new window)
Organisation formed by a merger between the New Opportunities Fund and the Communities Fund that awards half of the National Lottery money to good causes. Focuses on opportunities for young people and local community projects.
Football Foundation (Opens in new window)
Funding gained jointly through the FA Premier League, the FA and the Government to increase and develop grass roots football within local communities. Grants from £100 to £1 million are available to assist in projects like changing facilities, new floodlights, community projects, pitch drainage or new kits.

Grant Finder is a database of regional, national and international grants that are available to all. The database requires you to register but will provide you with a comprehensive information about grants.
