Community Safety Partnership

Together we can make a safer community

Wycombe Community Safety Partnership is a multi-agency group working together to tackle crime and disorder within the district. This partnership includes:

  • Wycombe District Council
  • Thames Valley Police
  • Buckinghamshire County Council
  • Primary Care Trust
  • National Probation Service
  • Bucks Fire and Rescue Service
  • Thames Valley Police Authority
  • Other agencies who tackle crime and disorder

Wycombe Community Safety Partnership Plan 2008 to 11

In 2006 a strategic assessment of crime and disorder within the district was undertaken. The findings from this assessment have been used to outline the priorities for the partnership for the next three years.

Wycombe Community Safety Partnership members have agreed the following priorities for action over the next three years:

Addressing local priorities; increasing public confidence

  • Dealing with anti-social behaviour
  • Neighbourhood Action Groups
  • Communication of successful projects

Improve the safety of young people and vulnerable communities

  • Working with young people
  • Working with vulnerable older people
  • Improving the support to victims

Reduce the harm caused by alcohol and drugs

  • Support the County's communities and availabilities drug plans
  • Working towards the targets set in the alcohol plan

Effective offender management

  • Stop people engaging in offending behaviour
  • Actively tackling those who are already prolific offenders
  • Work to rehabilitate and resettle identified prolific offenders

Reduce violent crime

  • Encouraging the reporting of domestic abuse
  • Develop Nightsafe to make the main town centres a safer environment

Reduce serious acquisitive crime

  • Tackle burglary within hotspot areas
  • Work with the community to tackle vehicle crime
  • Work with groups such as Neighbourhood Watch and Business Watch to help reduce crime

The second strategic assessment was completed last year, and this identified the following as priorities for action:

  • Burglary dwelling
  • Less serious violence against the person
  • Robbery
  • Theft from vehicle
  • Anti-social behaviour
  • Substance misuse

These priority areas for action link closely with the agreed Partnership Plan priorities for the Wycombe Community Safety Partnership detailed above. A full copy of the Partnership Plan, containing more detail of these links can be downloaded below.
