Selling to the council
We spend over £35 million per year on goods, services and works providing firms of all sizes with a wide range of commercial opportunities. We seek to buy goods and services which offer the best value for money to the tax payer and to purchase in accordance with legislative requirements and Government guidance.
Approved suppliers
We do not have a central approved list of suppliers, but individual approved lists are held by some individual service departments. Companies wishing to submit their details for an approved list should contact the relevant council service department. There is a list of key contacts in the section headed "Current contracts and tenders" . Details will be held on file until such times as a quote or tender is required.
Advertising tenders
When we want to invite tenders for works, goods or services we may place an advertisement on the South East Business Portal, the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU), in the local press or in relevant trade journals.
For more information see our how we seek quotes and tenders page.
Collaborative procurement
We are committed to working in collaboration with other local councils and the wider public sector to maximise the value we get from our contracts. We are a member of the Bucks Procurement Group, which includes Buckinghamshire County Council and the other district councils within Bucks: Aylesbury Vale, Chiltern and South Bucks.
We also work closely with Improvement and Efficiency South East (IESE). IESE aims to develop opportunities of shared working between local councils and other public sector bodies.
We will take advantage of local or national framework agreements where they offer the most efficient procurement route.
