Change of circumstances for business rates
It is important that you tell us of any change in your circumstances which affects your business rates. This ensures that the amount of business rates you are asked to pay is correct.
Examples of changes which should be reported are:
- moving in or out of business premises
- buying or selling business premises
- a premises becomes vacant
- a vacant premises starts being used

Moving out of business premises
If you are moving out of your business premises, you will need to write to us or email us with the following information:
- The address of the business premises you are leaving
- The date you are vacating your premises
- The date your lease expires
- The name of the new occupiers
- Your forwarding address
- The name of your landlord
We will calculate your bill so that you are only charged for the period for which you are responsible and issue any appropriate refunds.
