    Cutting down some protected trees in his garden has cost homeowner Mr Ahmed of 1 Magnolia Dene more than he bargained for. He employed a handyman to cut down two beech trees and an oak tree but now faces a court bill totalling £2,770 for breaking the law. The mature trees, which were protected by Tree Preservation Order (TPO), were cut down without permission in January 2014.
